Music Marketing Project


She Will Be Loved - Reinvented 

 Pop singer new on the music playing field! Takes a storytelling approach to their first music video and a dramatic one at that. Envy meets jealously in the form of an ex-lover who keeps her obsession for someone she cannot have. The planning of this story would incorporate many close-up shots to show the developing emotions of this character. Point of view shots will be used to establish relationships but also show biased perception in a toxic ex-lover. The decision for her past lover to move on drives her slowly crazy. Open the music video with a shot of a flame to ignite ideas of passion but also danger.

 Our singer on his own creating the story based on an experience of an unsuccessful relationship. The turn of making this infatuation representation to a more twisted unobtainable longing. Hardships of real-life reflected as hard to reach love can spark interest in his audience to keep them listening. His lyrics are written as an open area for audience interpretation while communicating his own. Obtaining an interest in his music is the goal when creating the video. Advertising would include customized PR packages in a form of the "box of returned belongings" look. Our singer would reach out to radio stations to obtain wide listening while also approaching any opportunity to attend an interview to publicize his name.

Our singer was able to gain attraction and a label from appearing/contesting on an Americas Got Talent and had a successful performance. Talent scouted for his abilities gave him connections and money to budget a release for his first-ever music video. By use of social media websites, like Instagram and Twitter, our star was able to promote the music video before its release and had other celebrities at his music production company retweet the promos and repost their stories to help the pending video gain attraction. The music production company will put out a release of a new artist and a hyperlink to an informational website to learn more about their new singer. 

The actual production of this music video will have its difficulties due to limited actions and locations allowed through our group during the pandemic. Establishing the relationships with shots will need to be meticulously arranged for ability in easy communication of dynamics while also being safe. The budget for this music video is none and any props to engage the storytelling process will need to be thought out and arranged before the day of shooting. Character roles must be finalized as well as location scouting for the day of shooting. Filming a week before the entire project is due to allow for a well-developed editing process, also pre-filmed alternatives in case, and the storyboard finished before the filming process. Planning of costuming options
to engage color theory definitions to help deepen character representations, as well as makeup to show changes in time or emotion.
